Young NAG

Dear young acoustician,

NAG strives to bring together young acousticians (students, PhD students, young professionals) in the Netherlands and Belgium in order to build a network and to exchange professional experiences.

We organize an annual event where participants can share a pitch about their work and gather together.

NAG sponsors activities (congress participation, financial contribution in research project, study trips,… ) in the general field of acoustics. Applicants are invited to contact Elke Deckers (elke.deckers@kuleuven.be) at least four months in advance.

NSG in cooperation with VVM and NAG awards the Gouden Decibel for the best thesis on acoustics in 5 categories. The competition is open to PhD, Msc, Bsc and HBO candidates graduating within the Netherlands and Belgium. The announcement wil be announced on this page in due time.

The EAA provides grants to participate in the Forum Acusticum conferences organized every three years. More information can be found on http://euracoustics.org.

The young acousticians 2021 event will take place in December. Please contact Casper or Elcke if you want to present your acoustical PhD or Graduation.

Previous events are:

• May 2019 – Delft University of Technology – in collaboration with the Aircraft Noise and Climate Effects (ANCE) section.
• June 2018 – Eindhoven Unversity – in collaboration with the Building Acoustics group in conjunction with the PhD defense of Fotis Georgiou entitled “Modeling for auralization of urban environments : incorporation of directivity in sound propagation and analysis of a framework for auralizing a car pass-by”.
• June 2017 – TivoliVredenburg – combined with a tour guided by Arnold Koopman (building acoustic consultant).
